the "single" challenge

  • Oct. 17th, 2007 at 12:46 PM
Raspberry!
There's a show I want to see next Tuesday night. Traveling performance. One night only: Tango Buenos Aries. I asked my tango teacher to post this to his mailing list last week to see who might want to go. He's slack. No post. I checked today to see if there are tickets available... yes.  $40 per person.

Called four  possible candidates to go with me. No one picked up - all I got was voice mail. Not going to leave messages... what if they all four said yes? (well, I can dream...)

This is the challenge of being single. Lots of choices. No guarantees.

I'll go to class tomorrow and just talk to a few folks in person.

Or maybe I'll take the hint the universe is sending... and skip it.

Sometimes you just have to poke the universe in the eye.

With like a really long stick because it is like so big and all. ;)

Hope that you find a taker or why not just go on your own?

Sometimes I really have a "if it's meant to be, it will happen" mentality. And it did. I'm going with Mr.Tango Crush.

I go to movies alone, but somehow I've never wanted to go to a live performance alone. Maybe because at the higher cost of tickets I want someone to discuss it with afterward. It's as much about sharing as it is about experiencing.

But I should ponder that...
